Rouyn-Noranda regional Airport

This luminous monument stands out for its intricate structure and premium materials. At the heart of the design is a copper pillar serving as the central axis for all visual components. This feature highlights the materials used and creates a smooth transition between the exterior and interior of the terminal. It blends perfectly with the building’s architectural theme, adding both elegance and modernity. 

A black exterior arch with a copper interior rises over the structure, adding vertical presence to the sign. This elegant frame surrounds a floating box with a minimalist design, featuring “push-through” lettering. This technique makes the translucent white acrylic letters appear cut into the surface, producing a striking contrast when lit. Integrated LED lighting illuminates both the lettering and the structure, ensuring high visibility day and night. 

The base of the monument connects all visual elements, providing structural support and creating a cohesive whole. The entire project was carefully designed to ensure that each component blends harmoniously with the airport’s architecture. Materials such as steel, aluminum, and aluminum composite (ACM) combine strength and lightness, while LED lighting ensures energy efficiency and longevity. 

With its impressive dimensions, 240” x 132”, this monument serves as a major visual landmark for incoming travelers. More than just a sign, it symbolizes Rouyn-Noranda’s modernity and dynamism, reinforcing the city’s appeal and visibility.
