Material selection was key to ensuring the durability and elegance of the project. The marquee is made of painted aluminum, a lightweight, durable material ideal for supporting the digital screen while providing a clean and contemporary look. The aluminum, treated for surface resilience, complements the building’s brick cladding, allowing the marquee to blend gracefully into its surroundings while adding a fresh and modern touch to the centre’s facade. Precision cut-outs in the structure allow light from the saber-style LED lighting system to diffuse from behind, creating a subtle play of shadows and light that adds a visually captivating and dynamic dimension.

At the heart of the project is the integrated digital screen, designed to display a wide range of information about the centre’s activities and events. This modern system offers maximum flexibility with the ability to update content in real time. The screen not only captures the attention of visitors but also serves as a centralized communication tool to inform and energize the centre’s programming. Whether announcing special events, scheduling updates, or important notices, the screen acts as a powerful vehicle for visibility, communication, and community engagement.

To refine the visual presentation, PVC cut-out letters were added to the structure. Strategically placed, these letters clearly identify the centre while adding depth and elegance to the marquee. The contrast between the PVC and painted aluminum enhances visual impact and gives the entire structure a contemporary and polished appearance. The careful finishing of these elements ensures excellent readability, even from a distance, while respecting the building’s overall aesthetic with a modern design.

This project was the result of close collaboration between the City of Rouyn-Noranda and the Reflecteur team, which handled the design, fabrication, and installation of this innovative marquee. With precision and expertise, the team delivered a custom solution that met both aesthetic and functional expectations, while respecting the site’s technical constraints. Installation was completed on schedule and according to specifications, ensuring perfect integration into the existing infrastructure.
