Rouyn-Noranda regional Airport
The CLD of Rouyn-Noranda, in collaboration with the City, launched a project to showcase the city’s new tourism identity: “Douce Rebel.” This architectural signage was designed for installation at the airport’s entrance and exit, serving as a visual welcome point for visitors. The signage column is built from an aluminum structure fixed to a steel beam—a strong, modern material that complements the architecture of the airport and its recently renovated control tower.

Illuminated architectural column
Inspired by an existing pylon sign, this new column includes a QR code directing travelers to the Douce Rebel tourism website—an initiative to encourage discovery of the city from the moment of arrival. The column’s minimalist and elegant design fits within a contemporary setting while staying true to the spirit of the city. Signage elements include painted aluminum, 12 mm acrylic letters and logos, and 3M frosted vinyl, adding subtle texture and a refined finish.
To ensure optimal visibility, a Saber Allanson LED lighting system was integrated into the structure, discreetly but effectively illuminating the column both day and night. This lighting choice, both functional and decorative, enhances the signage while creating an inviting glow.
The project was designed, fabricated, and installed with great precision and attention to detail, enhancing the airport’s visual appeal while affirming Rouyn-Noranda’s new identity as a modern and welcoming tourist destination.
