Rouyn-Noranda regional Airport
The exterior wayfinding signage at Rouyn-Noranda Airport was designed to guide vehicle traffic efficiently while maintaining a visual aesthetic consistent with the site’s architecture. This project aimed to provide clear orientation while integrating harmoniously with the surrounding landscape and the airport building’s design.

Exterior wayfinding signage
The exterior panels, inspired by the monument-style sign at the site’s entrance, are made of aluminum and installed on helical piles. Each panel is painted black to create contrast with the building’s exterior cladding, ensuring maximum visibility while blending seamlessly into the overall design. The main structure, composed of galvanized steel tubes, supports aluminum and aluminum composite panels, with reflective vinyl lettering for excellent legibility, even at night.
With impressive dimensions reaching up to 84” x 180”, the signage ensures information is clearly visible from a distance without disrupting the site’s visual harmony. The spacing between the panels and the main structure creates a light, airy effect while providing clear orientation for drivers.
Réflecteur managed the entire process, from graphic design to fabrication and installation. The team worked in close collaboration with the City of Rouyn-Noranda to ensure that every detail met the project’s functional and visual requirements.
This exterior signage not only improves traffic flow around the airport but also adds a touch of modernity to the entire complex. It reflects the City of Rouyn-Noranda’s commitment to delivering high-quality infrastructure that combines efficiency, safety, and aesthetics, while respecting the site’s visual environment.
