Led by the cultural organization Minwashin, La crois\u00e9e des chemins<\/em> is an artistic mediation project that highlights the millennia-old presence of the Anicinabek on their ancestral territory. Six permanent artworks, inspired by elders\u2019 stories and the Nation\u2019s archives, are installed across the Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue region. Together, they form a living constellation that invites visitors to experience the territory differently and to build connections between peoples. La crois\u00e9e des chemins<\/em> is an outdoor art circuit that evokes a symbolic meeting place, where history, land, art, and communities intersect. Carole B\u00e9rub\u00e9-Therrien \/\/ La crois\u00e9e des chemins<\/h2>\n\t\t\n\t\t\t\t

Heart of Birch<\/em>, created by Innu artist Carole B\u00e9rub\u00e9-Therrien, celebrates the Anicinabe territory and collective memory. The artwork evokes unfolding bark, revealing an identity shaped by time, roots, and stories passed down through generations.<\/p>\n

Made of curved aluminum, the sculpture takes the form of a spiral that encourages viewers to move around it. Inside, an engraved and copper-painted frieze illustrates the cycle of life, from birth to old age, drawing inspiration from Indigenous photographs and archival materials.<\/p>\n

The exterior of the spiral features perforated patterns representing flora and fauna. These openings reveal the copper tones within and create layers of contrast and transparency. The public is invited to come closer, observe the details, and immerse themselves in the symbolic language of the work.<\/p>\n

R\u00e9flecteur supported the artist throughout every stage, from concept to installation, bringing to life a striking and immersive piece that connects past, present, and future in one continuous movement.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\n\t<\/div>\n<\/section>\n\n\n
